Most of our clients request teddy bears, dogs, and
other familiar animals, however, even familiar character designs often
include special features. The dog at left was unique because the clients
asked us to create a costume that would allow the actor to see well
enough to ski. All of the materials and adhesives used in the head were
washable or waterproof. We used stiff thin plastic foam to shape the
head so that it would be light, but not fragile. We also had to
interpret the logo, which was drawn in a funky, angular style.
Ultimately, some design details that were not absolutely essential were
dropped to save hundreds of dollars and several days of construction
time.
